March 5th 2019

On arrival in Auckland, you will be met by Alistair, to start your golf journey of New Zealand to the majestic Kauri Cliffs. Check into a deluxe suite for two nights, which includes breakfast, pre-dinner drinks, a 5 course dinner and all the fine trappings you would expect from a 6 star Relais Chateau property. 

Our new Mercedes Sprinter offers the utmost in luxury transportation. 

 

This vehicle will be our wheels for the duration of the tour and offers leather seats and independent airconditioning. 

March 6th

On waking at Kauri Cliffs, golf this morning at arguably the top course in the country. The David Harman designed Kauri Cliffs was the first course built by owner and New York philanthropist, Julian Robertson. Completed in 2001, the course offers dramatic views and elevation changes with some stunning holes (see my blog on this website for my favourite Par 3 anywhere!) 

 

After golf, partake in a guided walk to Pink Beach or to one of the many walking tracks that cover this expansive working farm. Other options include a cruise to the Hole in the Rock, or take a visit to the famous Tana Mahuta !  

March 7th 

DAY 4:

We'll check out of Kauri Cliffs this morning and will transfer the 2 hours to Tara Iti. Check in for one night in Guest Cottages. 

This afternoon, golf at the Golf Digest #6 Greatest Golf Course in the world. 

No rush to wake up this morning, but after you have had your breakfast, take a wonder down to the clubhouse at The Kinloch Club and check in for your round at this remarkable golf course. As Jack Nicklaus exclaimed on one visit : "Kinloch is like heaven on earth" - you will soon discover why. The golf course itself is a challenge, however one that you will enjoy. After golf, relax for the rest of the day and sample the local walking tracks of Kinloch, or even partake in dinner or "locals" night down the Tipsy Trout restaurant in the village ! 

DAY 5:

A rest day from golf today, and the oppotunity exists to experience one of the finest activities that the region has to offer. Chose from either an exclusive drop-off and pick-up guided walk of one of the finest one day walks in the world, the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Set among some of the most exhilerating scenery, this walk with blow your mind ! Crater lakes, steam vents and incredibly stunning views will have you in awe for the full duration of this 7 hour walk. 

 

Alternatively if walking seems all too energetic, allow us to introduce you to one of the finest fly fishing guides in New Zealand. You will be offered an introduction to what Taupo fly fishing is all about. Walk up crystal clear rivers, stalking wily brown trout or fresh run rainbows, and then cast a dry fly above their nose, and tell me at the end of the day that your adrenalin levels did not go through the roof ! 

 

DAY 6:

Check out from Dunalistair House and your driver guide will take you to Wairakei Golf and Sanctuary. One of New Zealand's premium golf facilities, the course was designed by Commander John Harris, with recent work carried out by Peter Thomson. The course represents a classic parkland test, however with the pumice soils, the drainage is exceptional and the whole experience is enhanced by the predator proof fence surrounding the property, enclosing a myriad of birds and animals, including falloe deer. 

 

After golf and lunch, you will be driven the two hours to the Farm at Cape Kidnappers, home to the world famous golf course by the same name. Check in for two nights, which includes dinner, bed & breakfast. 

DAY 7:

Cape Kidnappers is undoubtedly one of the worlds finest golf courses and its international ranking reflects that. Designed by Tom Doak, the course offers dramatic coastal golf holes, intermingled with holes meandering within a working farm station. 

 

After your golf, allow your driver guide to take you on a winery tour and lunch to one of the nearby wineries that are becoming world famous for reds and chardonnay's. Between Elephant Hill, Clearview Estate and Craggy Range, a fantastic 3 stop tour will culminate in a culninary treat where the food is not only excellent, it is world class. 

 

Return back the The Farm for an evening of exceptional service and hospitality, before retiring in preparation for your onward journey tomorrow. 

DAY 8:

Check out The Farm and you will be transferred to Napier airport (a 40 minute drive) to catch a flight to Wellington. On arrival in Wellington you will be met by a driver guide and transferred to the Royal Wellington Golf Club. Having undergone a multi-million dollar re-design in 2014, the Royal Wellington Golf Club is now arguably one of the finest club courses in New Zealand. Embrace the history of the elegant club house, and allow us to introduce you to some members of the club who would love to share their hidden gem with you. 

 

After golf, you will return to Wellington, where you will check into the Museum Hotel. Take a visit to the Te Papa Museum across the road, which houses some of the finest historical artefacts of New Zealand.

DAY 9:

Check out the Museum Hotel, and you will be transferred to Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club, only a 50 minute drive north of the city. Paraparaumu has been ranked in the Top 100 in the world in former years, and the course is returning to its former glories of riveted bunkering and classic links style characteristics. 

 

After your golf, you will be transferred to the Paraparaumu Beach Airport for a direct flight to Auckland to meet your connecting flight back home.
