The South Island of New Zealand differs from the North in many ways. It offers a more temperate climate, as well as stunning mountains, lakes and a coastline that is simply extraordinary. Easiest access into the South Island is either via ferry from Wellington, or regular and daily flights from all main centres arrive into Christchurch and Queenstown as well as the regional centres of Dunedin, Nelson, Invercargill and Blenheim.
For golfers, the destination of choice in the past 5-10 years has very much become Queenstown. Labelled as the "Adventure Capital of the World", Queenstown offers half a dozen quality golf courses, along with fantastic wines, food, accommodation and activities to warrant a good amount of time to stay here.
DAY 1:
On arrival into Queenstown, you will be met by one of our friendly and welcoming staff members and transferred to your accommodation. We have a number of options that we use in Queenstown, including Millbrook Resort, Matakauri Lodge, The Sofitel Hotel, Rees Hotel or The Dairy. Depending on your group size we will suggest a suitable option which will match the activity levels you wish to partake in !
DAY 2:
You will be collected this morning after your breakfast and transferred for your first round of golf at Jacks Point.
A relatively gentle start to the course eases you out the lake edge, and the jaw-dropping views start to come into play as you stand on the 5th Tee. From there on in, just admire the natural beauty and stunning landscapes that this course has been sculpted from. The course measures just shy of 7000 yards from the championship tees and weaves through tussock grasslands, dramatic rocky outcrops and steep bluffs. This will be one of your golfing highlights that you have ever experienced.
After your golf, enjoy a sumptious lunch in the delightful Jack's Point clubhouse.
Rest of afternoon at leisure to enjoy some exploring of Queentown shops and cafes. All transfers will be included.
DAY 3:
A day off golf today to take one of the most dramatic flights you will ever experience. Whether by fixed wing or by helicopter a visit into Milford Sound is one of the most visually stunning experiences of your life. With sheer rock faces that rise out of the ocean some 4000ft, the breathtaking vistas, waterfalls and wildlife are simply a must-do experience. We will discuss with you the varying experiences available to you.
DAY 4:
Golf has been arranged today at The Hills, a private golf course located 20 minutes from Queenstown in the delightful village of Arrowtown. Home to the New Zealand Open for the past few years, The Hills is set over 500 acres of land across a glacial valley. The Hills is home to an incredible array of flora including native brown top grasses and wild native mountain tussocks. Sculptures crafted by New Zealand artists compliment the natural beauty of the course's lakes, waterways and wetland areas.
The award winning Clubhouse is designed to seamlessly integrate with the landscape, with less than a quarter of the building visible above ground.
DAY 5:
Your final day in Queenstown includes a game of golf at Millbrook Resort. Voted the top golf resort in the world by the World Travel Awards, Millbrook is a delighttful setting.
