TEE TIME AT 1.30pm (CONFIRMED - Walking)
With a backdrop of the Remarkables Mountain Range (some 2300 vertical metres) and also astonishing views of Lake Wakatipu, it is clear to see why the designers of Jacks, Darby Partners were so enthralled to have this project land on their table.
A relatively gentle start to the course eases you out the lake edge, and the jaw-dropping views start to come into play as you stand on the 5th Tee. From there on in, just admire the natural beauty and stunning bit of dirt that this course has been sculpted from.

On arrival in Napier, collect rental car - Group H. All inclusive, including unlimited K's, maximum insurance cover with $0 excess.
Drive the 30 minutes to Porters Hotel, Havelock North - CONFIRMED RES #49852 and check in for 2x nights, including breakfast.

This wonderfully dramatic course, set high on craggy cliffs some 140 metres above the sea, was designed by American Tom Doak of Renaissance Golf Design. Arguably one of the most spectacular sites in the world, the 6,533 metre par 71 course provides a firm and fast surface for seaside golf at its finest. In 2008 the Daily Telegraph of the UK, described Cape Kidnappers as the No.1 Golf Course in the World.
At Cape Kidnappers players may one minute be hitting shots over the tops of tea trees and then the next across a deep gully or along the edge of a deep ravine. Holes aptly named the Pirate’s Plank and the Widow’s Walk perhaps give you some indication of just how exhilarating this course is, overlooking the Hawkes Bay and Pacific Ocean.
Post golf return to Porters Hotel.

The Kinloch Club opened in 2008 to international acclaim as the only Jack Nicklaus Signature Course in New Zealand. It offers fast and firm fescue fairways with an abundance of trouble around the greens ! Visually, it is one of New Zealand's most varied and scenic golf courses with stunning views over the volcanic caldera of Lake Taupo (size of Singapore).
Post golf, transfer 30 minutes to Taupo and check into the Hilton Lake Taupo for 1 night.

A 1.5 hour drive north of Auckland is Te Arai Links. Golf & accommodation for 1 night on site at Te Arai Links.

Afternoon tee time CONFIRMED for 1.30pm.
At the time of writing, Te Arai Links is yet to open, however the writer has walked the course in July 2022, and Alistair believes that this will be in the Top 3 golf courses of New Zealand. Designed by Bill Coore / Ben Crenshaw, the dramatic links land is staggering, and the course is set to be met with international acclaim.

Drive north the 2.5 hours to Kauri Cliffs for a CONFIRMED 1.45pm tee time.
Kauri Cliffs offers stunning views over the Bay of Islands and Cavalli Islands. With elevation changes of some 500ft in the front 9 holes, the back 9 offers a gentle weaving along cliff edges and ravines - a course that is a stunning piece of golf course architecture.
After golf, transfer to Kerikeri to the Stone Store Lodge for 1 night - CONFIRMED RES #R2208126
