Group Tours - Best of North Island Golf Tour !

The past three years I have conducted a growing number of private tours of the North Island, and I am thoroughly enjoying sharing this unique country for select golfing and leisure groups.

Our latest purchase is a 10 seat Mercedes Sprinter luxury coach. It has duly been nicknamed the "Dreamliner" by Kerry Molloy (lodge manager at Huka Lodge) - I think something about its neon lighting reminds him of all the airliners he has been on !

We offer our guided tours to a maximum of 8 guests in the Dreamliner which allows plenty room to spread out. If you have more people in your group wishing to come on tour, we will take a second vehicle with a second guide (this works for up to 16 people maximum). My co-host is Mark Everard from Adrenalin Group - a trusty touring partner with a magical sense of humour ! Both Mark and I take an incredible amount of pleasure in sharing with our guests our intimate knowledge of New Zealand's hidden gems and unique experiences.

As a guide to the type of itinerary we create (each however is individually tailored) , I hope the following will give you a good perspective of what balances well).

Gents Group March 2018 - 7 days North Island.

Day 1: Arrival Auckland - we will meet you in the arrivals hall, and drive the 4 hours north to Kauri Cliffs - stops on the way at a couple of excellent cafes and a chocolatier unlike any other ! (If your group are feeling ambitious and time allows, a round of golf to warm up at Waipu is a fantastic treat).

Accommodation at Kauri Cliffs or a local hotel (depending on budget). Spa treatments on arrival or optional golf.

Day 2: Golf at Kauri Cliffs - a marvelous design by Dave Harman - one of New Zealand's most iconic golf courses within the stable of Julian Robertson.

- In the evening, Mark and or I will depart with the bulk of your luggage (golf clubs etc) to relocate to Taupo, so we can meet you off your plane in the morning.

Day 3: Kauri Cliffs will transfer you to Kerikeri Airport for a morning flight to Taupo (via a short stop in Auckland). Please note that flying domestically in New Zealand is incredibly straightforward and most regional planes are Bombardier Q300's.

We will meet you off the plane in Taupo and undertake some local sightseeing including viewing the mighty Huka Falls, Aratiatia Rapids, Orakei Korako or Wai O Tapu geothermal park. We might even persuade you to get in the Huka Jet !

Accommodation at Huka Lodge, Kinloch Lodge or The Hilton Lake Taupo.

Evening cocktails, cheese and wine at Dunalistair House. Mark and I like to throw a "Welcome to Taupo" event, and our property at The Kinloch Club golf course is the ideal venue.

Day 4: Golf at The Kinloch Club - a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course. Optional fly-fishing or lake trip on Lake Taupo this afternoon with one of the top fly fishing guides in New Zealand - if this guy can't catch you fish and get you hooked, you need to concede that fishing is not for you !

Day 5: Golf at Wairakei Golf and Sanctuary, followed by lunch at The Plateau. We will then take two hour drive to the Hawkes Bay, stopping at a winery or two as well ! One of our favourites is Clearview Estate - a multi-award winning winery with some great Chardonnay's, Cabernet Sauvignon's and plenty other deep bodied reds. As a good friend of the owner and winemaker Tim Turvey (TT), we'll aim to get him to join us for an introduction to his passion of wine-making as well.

Accommodation at The Farm at Cape Kidnappers or Masonic Hotel, Napier.

Day 6: Golf at The Farm at Cape Kidnappers - simply one of the world's very best.

Day 7 : Tour ENDS.

Extension option 1 : Transfer to Wellington for two nights at The Museum Hotel or Sofitel Wellington, and golf at Paraparaumu Beach or Royal Wellington Golf Clubs.

Extension option 2 : Transfer north to Tara Iti for a night at this uber private club with golf (please note we are able to obtain access to Tara Iti for your group if pre-approval and certain conditions are met).
